Ever wonder about the story behind K.A.M Photography? Well, let’s just say my name, Kaylee Ann Mellor, was practically destined for a life behind the lens! Born in Johannesburg but raised under Durban’s golden sun, I’m a true Durban girl at heart. My childhood was a canvas of art and drama, always fueled by a passion for creating. Then, at 13, a camera entered my life, and everything clicked. My dad, a photographer himself, sparked a fire in me, teaching me the magic of light and composition. From capturing my furry friends in our sprawling garden to dreaming of a career filled with people and pictures, photography has always been my calling!
It was a dream come true: to photograph people, travel the world, and learn from a kaleidoscope of cultures. Each port of call was a new lesson, each face a new story. I grew as a photographer and as a person, absorbing the beauty and diversity of our planet. It was truly the experience of a lifetime. Returning home in March 2019, I was ready to pour all that passion and experience into K.A.M Photography, creating meaningful images right here!
